This project draws from bell hooks’ All About Love . hooks understands that love is an action; instead of being an unintentional sentiment that begins in an unknown, mysterious way, love is an intentional, everyday practice based on care, trust, justice and mutual spiritual growth; however, spiritual does not mean religious. For hooks, love does not give space for power structured relashionships, where control is normalised, rather love is perceived as a horizontal exchange.
hooks argues that capitalism aligns with domination. It normalises hierarchy and exploitation, values that undermine mutuality and care. A system that thrives on inequality is incompatible with the practice of love.
